A date in Madrid
According to the old Polish saying there is no better place to live a sweet life than Madrid. It’s really hard not to agree. Sunny, southern Europe, beautiful Spanish women and men, delicious cuisine and plenty of interesting things to do make tourists fall in love with this city.
We’ll begin our adventure with Puerta del Sol, which literally means ‘Gates of the Sun’. It’s a Madrid’s central square, which is also an important dating point. Located here statue of a brown bear is a meeting place for most of the lovers. It’s not surprising – it seems that from this point it’s close to every part of the city and many believe that there is nothing more romantic than a stroll through the center of the capital!
After a walk the best idea is to grab a snack in a nearby restaurant La Pulpería de Victoria, located on Calle Victoria 2. Local wine, fresh and delicious products and a very cozy atmosphere will make your evening unforgettable. Regular visitors recommend clams in particular, which are known to be a great aphrodisiac!
After dinner it’s worth to go to the Fundación MAPFRE – studio, where the Pablo Picasso’s great ideas were born. We’ll see here where the creator drew his inspiration, what moved him and what made him pensive. A glass of southern wine, a famous painter’s amazing workplace and the setting sun of Spain is a recipe for a perfect day.
After so many activities it’d be great to freshen up in the hotel bathroom. And since we’re in a place so rich in history, it would be a sin not to check in to the Emperador – a beautiful, classic hotel in the city center. During the season there is a swimming pool on the roof and a huge terrace open for the guests from which you can admire the insanely amazing city skyline. It’s really impossible not to fall in love with Madrid!
