Paris Museum of Fashion & Design
Paris is a city which deals really great with using the former buildings in the center of the metropolis. An interesting example of this is Cité de la mode et du design – Museum of Fashion and Design, located on the left side of the Seine River. Once port warehouses, today one of the most wonderful French museums.
Massive architecture of warehouses was lightened by elements made of glass, wood, big glass blocks and beautiful, green roof terrace. This unique desing was made by an architecture duo Dominique Jakob and Brendan Macfarlane. Recently opened museum is a great success and the project itself is highly praised. Some even speak of Cité de la mode et du design as a Paris modern architectural jewel.
After a complete refurbishment and renovation this coastal area has turned into a bustling center, where its home found all the projects and works of art and fashion. Conferences, design fairs, presentations and exhibitions are held here. France already had its museum of art and design. Do you think we need one in Poland?
